I’ve known Abby and her family for most of my life, so when she told me she was getting married and wanted me there to capture it, I cried happy tears. I knew her wedding day would be filled with laughter, sentimental details, faith, and sincerity. Abby introduced me to Christopher at a wedding she attended that I was photographing. They complement each other in so many wonderful ways, and I knew that they were a beautiful match.
The week of their wedding, a hurricane hit the Panhandle of Florida and Christopher was tasked with covering the impacts to the local area at his job. When I made it down to Florida for their rehearsal dinner, I gave them both huge hugs. I’ve never seen a more calm pair in the midst of an intense situation. We began wedding day at Abby’s childhood home where I photographed her gorgeous, classic bridal details. Abby’s family treated me like family and I loved getting to update some of their family portraits. We all pilled into cars and headed to the church for the ceremony. One of the last things Abby and Christopher did before their ceremony is a confessional to be pure going into their marriage ceremony.
Catholic ceremonies are some of my favorite type to photograph because the traditions and rituals behind each gesture are so beautiful. There was not a dry eye in the room as Abby walked down the aisle to meet Christopher. The ceremony was beautiful and filled with laughter and tears. After the ceremony, we drove to Abby and Christopher’s new house nearby for bridal party and romantic portraits. It was so much fun to see where they would be starting their married life together.
The reception was so much fun and the dance floor stayed full the entire evening. We ended the night with a rose petal toss celebrating the newlyweds! Cheers to Abby and Christopher!!
